Thrifted

Blouse & pants: thrifted via Goodwill. Shoes: INC via Macy’s. Clutch: H&M. Earrings: vintage via NVISION. Nails: Revlon “Copper Penny” & “Plum Attraction.” Lipstick: Revlon “Orange Flip.”

If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve eased up on the proverbial “outfit posts.”  For one, I don’t want this blog to be purely self-involved, and also I’m pretty awkward in front of the camera. However, I want to take a quick second to feature this outfit as an aside to my recent “Thrifting 101” post.

In this instance, my shirt and pants are both from Goodwill; the former, a perfectly-oversized silk night shirt, and the latter, some polka dot pants my wonderful boyfriend helped me alter into a quasi MC Hammer style. I wore this spectacular getup with some snakeskin-and-gold platform sandals I picked up on major sale last spring, a similarly printed clutch, and some gloriously large, Liberace-approved vintage earrings.

I’m definitely vibing on a few trends here (polka dots, pajamas as daywear, snakeskin, nerdy-chic), but I think the way I put it all together is quirky and unique in a way that makes it me. As you can see, there’s no real method to my madness beyond dealing with proportions on a strictly elementary basis (loose on top, fitted on bottom) and not matching. I HATE matching.
